STR is a unique landscape with rich floral and faunal diverity. A travel to this
landscape will induce visitors to fill their camera memory card with green memories of scenic
beauty and animal welath of the area. These documentation of natural inputs on plant and
animals and lancscape should not go hidden into shelves of individuals. These inputs, whcn
uploaded would enrich the gallery and collection of STR repository with due provision for
upload and issual of courtesy certificates. STR requests visitors to volunteer uploading of
maximum inputs to enrich STR collection and to help in upgradation of STR website
regularly.
Tiger
It is the flagship species in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve. Any sight of Tiger during the visit may be reported in this portal provision given below.
Elephant
Elephant is the mega mammal in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve. Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve is also known as the “Main Elephant Country” in Tamil Nadu, where the sighting of Elephant is possible all through the year. Indian Gaur
Indian Gaur is the biggest bovine found in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve. It is the main mega herbivore after Elephant which is found all over the Tiger Reserve. Any sight of Indian Gaur during the visit may be reported in this portal provision given below.
Black buck
Black buck is the highly endangered bovine found in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve. It’s habitat is mainly restricted to Sathyamangalam and Bhavanisagar Ranges of the Reserve. Any sight of Black Buck during the visit may be reported in this portal provision given below.
Vulture
Sathyamangalam is one of the few natural location wherein wild population of vulture are found in India. There are 4 vulture recorded in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve. They are Egyptian Vulture, White-rumped Vulture, Red necked Vulture and Long-billed Vulture. Scenarios vulture and Himalayan Griffon are rare visitors to this reserve.
